Beeler Gallery Now Reopened

Sarah Fairchild, Puddling, 2023 Acrylic, silkscreen, collage, metallic foil, nylon flocking on paper, mounted on panel, 35¼ x 51½ in.
Contemporary Art Matters is pleased to present in the gallery’s Viewing Room a selection of new works by artists Sarah Fairchild and Laura Sanders. Fairchild’s piece “Puddling” refers to the butterfly behavior of alighting along puddles to drink from damp soil and gather minerals. The title of Sanders’ painting “Fire Season” points to a new seasonal reality, and a disrupted sense of seasonality as plastic packaging allows us to consume anything all year round.
This Viewing Room spotlight is in recognition of Fairchild’s show “The Gilded Wild” and Sanders’ “Survivor Skills”, at Columbus College of Art and Design’s Beeler Gallery. It offers a thoughtful look at additional pieces that resonate with and expand upon their coinciding exhibitions. It will be on view by appointment for the rest of this month at the gallery’s 243 N. 5th Street, Columbus, OH.
