Laura Sanders is a painter based in Columbus, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio in 1988. She has exhibited her works at galleries and museums across the US. She has received several grants and awards including the Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award and in 2017 she was an artist in residency at the Headlands for the Arts, Sausalito, California. In 2020 she had a solo exhibition, Shifting Baselines at Contemporary Art Matters. In 2021, she was a part of 4 group exhibitions Rewilding at the Nino Mier Gallery, Los Angeles, CA Taking Interest: Summer In The City, at the Long Island Studio Collective, Long Island, NY, and virtually on Artsy by Contemporary Art Matters, Columbus, OH, Shape of An Image, curated by Sasha Bogojev, WOAW Gallery, Hong Kong, China, and New American Painting, Editors Pick, No. 149, Midwest Edition (Juried exhibition in print). In 2022, Sanders both curated and showcased in a group show at Contemporary Art Matters, Columbus, OH, To Die For. In 2024 she was part of the inaugural group show Double Vision at Plato Gallery, New York, New York and a solo exhibition Her Habitat at Contemporary Art Matters, Columbus, Ohio.
