Jones
Heather Jones (b. 1976, Dayton, OH) is an interdisciplinary artist based in southwestern Ohio. She studied art history at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning, earning both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts (ABT). Her work has been exhibited widely at national and international venues, including a recent solo exhibition in 2024, A Sort of Homecoming, at The Summit Hotel, Cincinnati, OH. Recent group exhibitions include Heather Jones and Jared Thorne (2023) at Contemporary Art Matters, Columbus, OH, and When We Are Together (2023) at The George Gallery, Charlotte, NC. In 2024, she participated in Master Class: The Business of Art Making with Mickalene Thomas and Jasmine Wahi at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Snowmass Village, CO. Her work has been acquired by the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, OH; the Speed Art Museum, Louisville, KY; Stiftung Konzeptuelle Kunst, Soest, Germany; the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago, IL; Fidelity Investments, Boston, MA; Churchill Asset Management, the Seagram Building, New York, NY; the Pizzuti Collection, Columbus, OH; the Sara and Michelle Vance Waddell Collection, Cincinnati, OH; as well as many other private collections throughout the United States and abroad. In 2019, Jones was an inaugural artist-in-residence at Kehinde Wiley’s Black Rock Senegal. She was also an artist-in-residence twice at Silver Art Projects in New York (2021 and 2022), as well as at the Cuttyhunk Island Residency in Massachusetts (2021). She recently joined The Contemporary Dayton as Curator and Director of Programs and Engagement.
