Heather Jones is an interdisciplinary artist based in South-Western Ohio. She studied art history at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning earning both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts (ABT). Her work has been exhibited widely at national and international venues including the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, OH, Speed Art Museum, Louisville, KY, Dakar Biennale, Dakar, Senegal, Contemporary Dayton, Dayton OH, David Richard Gallery, New York, NY, Taft Museum of Art, Cincinnati, OH, Art on Paper, New York, NY, Aqua Art Miami, Miami, FL, Marta Hewett Gallery, Cincinnati, OH, Iowa Quilt Museum, Winterset, IA, New England Quilt Museum, Lowell, MA, The University of California, Berkeley, CA, Boecker Contemporary, Heidelberg, Germany, Dr. Julius | ap, Berlin, Germany, Five Walls, Melbourne, Australia, and M17 Contemporary Art Center, Kyiv, Ukraine. Jones was an inaugural artist in residence at Kehinde Wiley’s Black Rock Senegal in 2019. She was also an artist in residence twice at Silver Art Projects Residency in New York in 2021 and 2022, as well as at the Cuttyhunk Island Residency in 2021 in Massachusetts. In 2024 she participated in Master Class: The Business of Art Making with Mickalene Thomas and Jasmine Wahi at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Snowmass Village, CO. Her work was acquired by the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, OH, the Speed Art Museum, Louisville, KY, Stiftung Konzeptuelle Kunst, Soest, Germany, the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago, IL, Fidelity Investments, Boston, MASS, Churchill Asset Management, the Seagram Building, New York, NY, the Pizzuti Collection, Columbus, OH the Sara and Michelle Vance Waddell Collection, Cincinnati, OH, as well as many other private collections throughout the United States and abroad. Recent group exhibitions include Heather Jones and Jared Thorne, 2023 at Contemporary Art Matters, Columbus, OH and 2023 When We Are Together, The George Gallery, Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2024 Jones had a solo exhibition A Sort of Homecoming, The Summit Hotel, Cincinnati, Ohio.
