In the Viewing Room: Robert Harms
March 20 – April 17, 2025

Robert Harms, More Flowers, 2022, Oil on board, 20 x 20 in.
In these three new small works, Robert Harms continues to find inspiration in the changing seasons on Little Fresh Pond, his studio setting in Southampton, New York. His gestural response to the natural world of plants, flowers, wind and sky are represented in these little gems. His abstract expressionism is distinguished by a lyrical, light approach. Like his friend Joan Mitchell, whom he visited as a young artist, he has a love of poetry and nature.

Robert Harms, Woods, 2022, Oil on panel, 20 x 20 in.
Originally from New York, Robert Harms received his B.A. from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. His work has been widely exhibited in the U.S. and is in numerous public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, The Parrish Museum, Southampton, and Guild Hall, Buffalo, New York. He has been the recipient of several awards and grants including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. In 2021, Robert exhibited a solo show at Contemporary Art Matters, Many Flowers. In 2022, Harms had a solo exhibition Robert Harms: Paintings at the Madoo Conservancy in Long Island, New York.
